10 years ago today, on the 29th of November 1992, Cabaret Voltaire played their last show at the Garden Arts Centre in Brighton, UK.
Cabaret Voltaire is one of the most influencial bands in the last decades of electronic music, especially in the genres of Industrial, Synth Pop, Techno, and Experimental. The group was founded in 1973 in Sheffield, UK, by Richard H. Kirk, Stephen Mallinder, and Chris Watson. They released their debut album “Mix-Up” in 1979. Chris Watson left the band in 1981 to work in television and later formed The Hafler Trio. After Cabaret Voltaire’s split, Stephen Mallinder emigrated to Australia and Richard H. Kirk continued a reputed solo career.
