10th Anniversary of Plastikman - Sheet One

November 16th, 2003 by Koldo Barroso

10 years ago today, on the 16th of November 1993, Richie Hawtin released on the Novamute label his debut album under the Plastikman moniker, “Sheet One”, which is today considered one of the most important Minimal Techno works from the 90’s.

Before Plastikman, Hawtin had released a series of tracks under the moniker of F.U.S.E. (Futuristic Underground Subsonic Experiments) which became rave anthems and were later compiled on the album “Dimension Intrusion” (Wax Trax, 93).

The album was recorded in a 48 hour studio session and it’s release was followed by ‘Spastik’ single, another Plastikman all-time classic.
