25 years ago today, on the 3th of February 1980, Jon and Vangelis released on the Polydor label their debut album “Short Stories”, which was one of the most original works of vocal electronic music from the 80’s.

The album was recorded in a week at Vangelis’ Nemo Studios in London, and was produced by the greek keyboardist himself. Vangelis had started his succesful solo career as an electronic musician and composer and Jon Anderson was woeldly known as the lead singer of progressive rock band Yes, which he formed 12 years before. Jon and Vangelis met originally in 1974 and had already worked together in Vangelis’ albums “Heaven and Hell” (75) and “Opera Sauvage” (75). They finally got together as a duo with the idea of improvising music on vocals and keyboards and reached the top UK charts with the track “I’ll Find My Way Home”.

Jon and Vangelis recorded another three studio albums together during the 80’s and 90’s including “The Friends of Mr. Cairo” (81), “Private Collection” (83), and “Page of Life” (99).
