25th Anniversary of Joy Division – Unknown Pleasures

25 years ago today, on 14th June 1979, Joy Division released on the Factory label their debut album “Unknown Pleasures”.
The album was recorded at Strawberry Studios in Stockport and produced by Martin Hannett. Joy Division’s line-up featured Ian Curtis (vocals), Bernard Sumner (guitar, keyboards), Peter Hook (bass), and Stephen Morris (drums). Before the album, the band had already recorded two tracks for the compilation EP A Factory Sample, released in December 1978.
“Unknown Pleasures” is considered one of the most important and influential albums of the post-Punk generation of all times.
