ARC “Arcturus” features a live performance by the electronic duo formed by Ian Boddy, founder of the DIN label, and Mark Shreeve, from the band Redshift. |

The concert features three long instrumental electronic themes in the purist style of the 70’s Berlinese school, where the ambient sounds by Boddy are fusioned with the sequential work of Shreeve’s hulking machine, the Moog IIIC modular system. The duo open the concert with an eastern oriented twilight landscape awakened by a series of ambient sounds, giving way to a bass sequence in the style of Tangerine Dream’s “Stratosfear”, and landing on a mysterious rhythmic section where new “Klaus Schulze style” sequences are developed. Other parts of the concert offer the beautiful and classic vintage sound of the Solina string ensemble that was so typical in space music from the 70’s, creating a pure spacial melodic passage overflown by sideral sounds. This is a very nice album for the lovers of the classic sound of space electronic music. It’s tasteful, everything but boring, and really well produced like every work touched by Ian Boddy’s hand. |
