Kid 606 is the moniker of Michael Trost Depedro, born in Caracas, Venezuela, grown up in San Diego and now residing in San Francisco.
Kid 606 musical style consists of a mix of electronic genres such as hardcore, industrial, IDM, breakbeat, and gabber.
Kid 606 was formerly involved with Spacewurm and Ariel and later started using the name Kid 606 along with other monikers, including the ones of Tigerboy, Compact Digital Audio, Scsi Bear, and Kid 666.
Kid 606’s music has gained a reputation in the electronic world for its high tempo breakbeats and a free mix of noise and sampling, under the influence of artists such as Atari Teenage Riot, Pan Sonic, Autechre, and Matmos.
Kid 606’s debut album “Don’t Sweat the Technics” was released in 1998. During the last decades he has released numerous works on independent labels such Vinyl Communications, Mille Plateaux, and the Tigerbeat6 label which he was founding member in 2001 along with Rjyan Kidwell aka Cex.
