Carolie Hervé aka Miss Kittin

Born in Grenoble, France, in 1973, DJ and vocalist Carolie HervĂ© got involved in the mid 90’s rave scene DJing in the popular Dragon Ball parties. After a series of international sessions in Moscow, Chicago and France along with Mike Dearborn, she moved to Geneva, Switzerland in 1996, where she signed to Mental Groove Records. She later met DJ Hell in Marseille and signed to his International DeeJay Gigolos label.

In1997, Miss Kittin formed the synth pop oriented duo Miss Kittin and along with keyboardist and programmer Michael Amato. Miss Kittin and The Hacker’s debut album “First Album” saw the light in 2001 after having released a serie of EPs where they combined synth pop and new wave sounds from the early 80’s with electro, disco, funk, and a big dose of sense of humour. Miss Kittin is also popular for her early live performances when she used to sing in costumes like a nurse. Songs like “1982″ and “Frank Sinatra” became anthems of the electroclash-definition”>electroclash scene of the early 00’s and she turned into an important icon of scene, working together with some of the most representative artists of the style, such as Felix da Housecat, Chicks on Speed, and Goldenboy.

In 2002, Miss Kittin released the techno music compilation “Miss Kittin On The Road” and she finally debuted as a solo artist in 2004 with the more mainstream oriented album “I.Com” on Novamute.

She has also worked with Steve Bug, Justin Berkovi, Sven Vath, Detroit Grand Pubash, and T. Raumschmiere.
