Monolake
Based in Berlin, Monolake is one of the most popular experimental electronic projects, consisting originally of Robert Henke, born in 1969 in Munich, and Gerhard Behles, who quit the project in 1999 to focus on his software company Ableton. Since then, Robert stayed on charge of the project with the occasional contribution of t++.
Monolake are associated with the Basic Channel Reaction label own by Moritz von Oswald in Berlin. Robert Henke also formed the Imbalance Computer Music label to release the Monolake works, including the albums “Hongkong” (1997), “Interstate” (1999), “Gravity” (2001), “Cinemascope” (2001), and “Momentum” (2003), plus numerous 12″.
Robert Henke has offered several live performances over the Internet with Deadbeat with the help of the Atlantic Waves software. Henke is also a mastering engineer for Dubplates and Mastering and has collaborated live with the video artist Alexej Paryla. Apart from the Monolake productions, he has released the solo albums “Piercing Music” (1994), “Floating Point” (1997) and “Signal to Noise” (2004).
