Nitzer Ebb is one of the premier and most influential industrial and EBM acts.

The band was formed in Essex (UK) 1982 by Douglas McCarthy (vocals, guitar), Bon Harris (drums and percussion) and David Gooday (drums), and counted with the collaborative work of Simon Granger, who created the design concept and artwork for the band.

The trio became popular locally due to their military look and rough sound. In 1984, they started their own record label Power Of Voice Communications along with the producer Phil Harding, who joint the band. In 1985, they released a debut single titled “Isn’t It Funny How Your Body Works” that catch the attention of London’s scene.

In 1987, Nitzer Ebb released their debut album “That Total Age” which feature the song “Join In the Chant” that became an anthem in the Balearic dance scene in the 80’s. Their second album “Belief” was released two years later and and David Goodayand and Phil Harding quit after differences about the militaristic imagery of the band.

Nitzer Ebb became an internationally popular band after signing to Mute Records in the UK and Geffen in the US, with the release of the albums “Showtime” (1990) produced by the reputed Flood (U2, Erasure, Nine Inch Nails), “Ebbhead” (1991) and “Big Hit” (1995).
