Peter Rehberg
Peter Rehberg -aka Pita- was one of the most representative artists electronic scene in Vienna in the 90’s and one of the most innovative experimental European musicians from the last decade, who pioneered the field of dissonant digital music and noise and has explored different aesthetics and styles including glitch, noise, and minimal electronica.
By 1995, Rehberg joined Ramon Bauer’s Mego, the most important electronic label in Austria, and they started a series of collaborative works under the name of Rehberg and Bauer, including the albums “Fasst” (1997), “Ballt” (1999) and “Passt” (2001).
Peter Rehberg became an important figure in the birth of the glitch aesthetic with the release of the album “Seven Tons For Free” (1996) on Mego label. In 1999, he released a concerto for pulse signals entitled “Get Out ” which started another trilogy completed with “Get Down” (1999) and the mini-album “Get Off” (2005).
Rehberg has gained high regard and won the Distinction Prize for Digital Musics at Ars Electronica in 1999. He has also has worked with several artists including Christin Fennesz, Zbigniew Karkowski, and Fenn O’Berg (Fennesz, Jim O’Rourke, Rehberg).
