Some of the most reputed musicians in rock music play tribute to Pink Floyd’s masterpiece "The Wall". The impressive list of guests includes Chris Squire, Alan White, Tony Kaye and Billy Sherwood (Yes), Robben Ford, Mike Porcaro, Steve Porcaro, Bobby Kimball and Steve Lukather (Toto), Tommy Shaw (Styx), Alex Ligertwood (Santana), Edgar Winter, Mike Baird and Aynsley Dunbar (Journey), Tony Levin (King Crimson), Ritchie Kozten (Poison), Jason Scheff (Chicago), Dweezil Zappa, Jeff Scott Soto (Yngwie Malmsteen), Tony Franklin (the Firm), Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Elliot Easton (the Cars), Derek Sheridan (Dream Theater), Fee Waybill (the Tubes), David Glen Eisley, Doug Pinnick (King’s X), Greg Bissonette, Ronnie Montrose, Gary Hoey, Scott Walton, Eric Singer, Bruce and Bob Kulick (Kiss), Vinnie Colaiuta (Frank Zappa), Marco Mendoza, Robin McAuley (Grand Prix), Phil Soussan (Ozzy Osbourne), Jimmy Haslip, Scotty Page (Pink Floyd), Pat Torpey (Mr Big) and Jeff Baxter (Doobie Brothers). This album was created to stay in perpetual rotation on your hi-fi system, and can be listened to as an independant piece of work. Every title of "Back Against The Wall" (2005) is a cover of each original track, kept in the same order, but performed in a personal and very consistent way. The project manager of this pharaonic work is guitarist and vocalist from Yes and Conspirancy, Billy Sherwood, who gathered a team worthy of the Olympus of Rock N’ Roll. It also features the voice of Malcolm McDowell, who played in the cult-movie "Clockwork Orange". This makes it an indispensable album in the discography of Pink Floyd. |
