The famous music from Pink Floyd ‘The Wall’ which became a movie in 1982 by British director Alan Parker is now going to be made into a Broadway musical by the band bassist Roger Waters who is to write and compose the orchestral arrangements. This may possibly bring to mind previous orchestral orchestral verions of Pink Floyd’s music such as “Us and Them: Symphonic Pink Floyd” and “Orchestral Maneuvers: The Music Of Pink Floyd” both of which were performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Sony and a film company have now brought the rights to develop musical from Roger Waters. He retained the rights to ‘The Wall’ after a bitter court battle when he split from the band in 1983. Let’s remember that the original music from “The Wall” was recorded and released as a double album by Pink Floyd in 1979 and it has sold more than 23 million copies. In 1990 Roger Waters offered a special show in Berlin featuring “The Wall” to celebrate the fall of Berlin’s Wall with guest artists such as Cyndi Lauper, Joni Mitchel, Scorpions, and Van Morrison.
