Pyratek is the solo project of Japanese producer Yasuhiro Matsuki. With ‘Half Asleep’ he delivers an album that easily can stand against the best work of DJ Shadow. Eight tracks that shows a high standard mix of contemporary music, concrete sounds, some jazz, krautrock and etnic music, all perfectly blended with warm emotive electronic and well recorded field recordings. ‘Half asleep’ starts with Pyratek’s ideology that sounds are equal worthed and with all these sounds he can produce his music.
