Born in Chelmsford, UK, Tom Jenkinson, aka Squarepusher, is one of the most innovative and creative artists in recent times in the electronic music music scene.
Tom Jenkinson is also an accomplished drummer, bassist, and multi-instrumentalist who has fusioned in a very personal syle jazz beats with drum ‘n’ bass, under the influence of jazz classics such as Miles Davis, and Herbie Hancock.
In 1995 Tom Jenkinson released his first album “Alroy Road” under the moniker of Duke of Harringay. His first work as Squarepusher, “Feed Me Weird Things” was released in 1996 on Rephlex and he started a close friendship with Richard D. James. A year later he published his first album for the Warp label, “Hard Normal Daddy” but the international recognition would come in 1998 with the album “Music Is Rotted One Note” where he played all of the instruments. Today, Squarepusher is one of the most representative artists on the Warp label.
Tom Jenkinson has also released the EP “Bubble & Squeak” in 1996, and numerous EP releases as Squarepusher on Warp. In 1998 he also released the alum “Buzz Caner” under the moniker of Chaos AD. His brother, Andy Jenkinson, is also a respected recording artist, under the name Ceephax Acid Crew.
