NY based jazz ensemble, The Claudia Quintet, will be touring Austria, Germany and The Netherlands this winter to present their ultimate "Semi-Formal" album, released on Cuneiform Records last October. The Claudia Quintet melds influences from classical minimalism (Terry Riley, John Adams, Steve Reich), new music composition, and progressive and post-rock (Tortoise, The Necks) with an astonishingly fresh jazz sensibility.

NY based jazz ensemble, The Claudia Quintet, will be touring Austria, Germany and The Netherlands this winter to present their ultimate "Semi-Formal" album, released on Cuneiform Records last October. The Claudia Quintet melds influences from classical minimalism (Terry Riley, John Adams, Steve Reich), new music composition, and progressive and post-rock (Tortoise, The Necks) with an astonishingly fresh jazz sensibility. The band features group leader/drummer/composer John Hollenbeck plus Drew Gress (double bass), Matt Moran (vibraphone), Ted Reichman (accordion) and Chris Speed (tenor sax and clarinet).
