Pioneering industrial band Throbbing Gristle will be playing two exclusive performances at the Volksbuehne, Berlin on December 31st 2005 and January 1st 2006. The band rejoined last year after 23 years of inactivity featuring the original lineup formed by Peter Christopherson, Chris Carter, Genesis P-Orridge and Cosey Fanni Tutty. The first concert will be performed in Quad sound and will celebrate the launch of their new studio album in 25 years titled "Part Two". The second one will be a new live improvised soundtrack to Derek Jarman’s "In The Shadow of The Sun". On the 29th of December there will be the world premier of Throbbing Gristle’s "Live at The Astoria, London" concert film followed by an ‘in conversation’ with all members of Throbbing Gristle. Also, a major retrospective Throbbing Gristle/Industrial Records Art exhibition titled "Industrial Annual Report" opens at the Kunstwerke Gallery in Berlin on the 30th December. We also want to report that last week, on the 9th of November, the Spanish TV channel TVE2 showed the legendary appearance of Phychic TV in the show "La Edad de Oro" in 1984 which provoked the cancellation of the show and the start of Genesis P-Orridge’s persecution by the British authorities for moral reasons. |
