"Zaar" is the debut album by an instrumental quartet formed by guitarist Yan Hazera and drummer Michael Hazera, ex members of the band Sotos.
What does it sound like?
The music of Zaar has been put under the labels of Zeuhl and chamber rock and avant rock. Zaar has a defined European sound with influences from folk music and free jazz mixed together in a constant feeling of intrigue and unquiteness.
Similar artists:
The most remarkable similarity I see is with King Crimson’s "Red" period, featuring dark harmonies, frantic progressions and a demolishing and complex rhythmic section. Some instrumental passages could be compared to the improvisational style of post rock acts such as Tortoise.
Highlights:
I would dare to say that Zaar could be one of this bands that gives it’s best onstage, rather than on a record. Although the band Zaar’s music is a complex world of structures, the band has basically a direct approach to rock music which makes their sound even more interesting.
Recommendations:
Everyone into complex music and experimentation and guitar oriented rock would enjoy this truly original band.

This is a great web site. I have some great web pages myself if you are interested to share. But I should not go on about my site too much, that is not fair, right?
